Pennsylvania’s capital city is known for a number of events that draw huge crowds each year. The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest free indoor agriculture expo in the country. It hosts more than 10,000 events to compete in across a variety of agricultural categories, including show animals and culinary skills, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. While you are there, you must have a milkshake and take advantage of the expansive food court. Get your hands on some authentic Pennsylvania Dutch dishes or fried appetizers to fuel a long day of walking around the Farm Show. What really makes the show special is the giant butter sculpture shown off each year. The secret design is revealed once the show begins, and visitors can marvel at about 1,000 pounds of buttery wonder.

During the warm seasons, you can catch a Harrisburg Senators baseball at FNB Field. Located on City Island, you are also close to the City Island Railroad and Carousel and the launching point for the Pride of the Susquehanna River Boat.
